This watercolour over pencil sketch on buff paper, of a cheeky-happy-wide eyed cat drinking from a teacup. Signed Louis Wain - undated but possibly circa 1880-1890. This watercolour drawing is presently unframed. When purchased it was in a rectangular wooden, moulded and gilded frame which has clearly seen much better days. Shorter goblet designed by Mabel Leigh 1933-1935 A very pretty goblet decorated with sgraffito in the Medina pattern. It stands 9.5cms/3.75 inches tall and 7.5cms/3 inches at the lip diameter. The bowl of the goblet sits over the rimmed circumference of the base which is alternately handpainted with deep pink and purple rings and has a background colour of muted beige brown with overpainted pattern in purple, green, yellow and pink.
